ACADEMIC INTENSIVE CARE
UNIT (AICU)
Dr Abdul Qadeer started a pilot project. 'Academic Intensive Care Unit (AICU),' aimed at bringing the dropouts and Madrasa students to the mainstream, which has borne fruit. The project, started in 2003, was aimed at helping the school dropouts and Madrasa students of age group 12-18. They are made to appear for the class 10th and 12th examinations along with NEET and other professional examinations. AICU has a composite curriculum from class 5th to 12th. A continuous and comprehensive evaluation method is employed in AICU. Nearly 1000 dropouts and Madrasa students are admitted annually to AICU. Alumni of Shaheen AICU are now pursuing education in esteemed institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University and other prestigious institutes of the nation.
